Victoria-based fintech launches in Canada with AI-powered client insights, Canadian data residency, and Canadian-context reasoning for wealth management.
VICTORIA, BRITISH COLUMBIA — June 15, 2026 — Legacy Keeper has officially launched the first AI estate-planning agent for Canadian fiduciary financial advisors and planners. Developed in Victoria, the platform allows advisors to efficiently offer comprehensive estate planning to all clients by reducing what was a half-day process per household to a quick 20- to 30-minute review, enabling them to serve more clients and enhance service quality.
Legacy Keeper’s AI agents analyze clients’ wills, trusts, insurance policies, and account statements. They identify opportunities to minimize tax and probate exposure, highlight risks and document gaps, and provide a secure, centralized workspace. This platform enables collaboration between clients, advisors, and estate stakeholders.
The platform is tailored for Canada: user data is stored domestically, and the AI applies Canadian-specific rules, including provincial probate, tax treatment (RRSPs, RRIFs, TFSAs, capital gains at death deemed disposition), ownership and titling, insurance products, trust law, corporate structures, and document conventions. “Fiduciary financial advisors and planners are well-positioned to support families with estate planning. Previously, uploading, evaluating, and creating recommendations could take several hours or even days.
We focused on building a tool that saves advisors significant time per client and enables them to deliver essential estate strategies to more clients,” said Alex Mason, Founder and CEO of Legacy Keeper. “Advisors have always known this is where trust is built, and the next generation becomes engaged, but the workflow was too slow to scale across an entire client base.
An AI agent that handles clerical work in the Canadian context finally changes the economics.”Mason spent a decade in the U.S. working with startups before returning to British Columbia to build Legacy Keeper, including new ventures and strategy at LPL Financial, the largest U.S. independent broker-dealer. Also launching is AI-driven client insights, a client-facing feature that translates financial, retirement, tax, and estate-planning documents into plain-English explanations. This empowers clients to better understand their financial situation between meetings, increases engagement, and supports heirs as they prepare for the projected $ 84 trillion intergenerational wealth transfer.
The product is being developed in close partnership with senior wealth-management practitioners. Brad Hyde, SVP Tax & Estate Planning at Westgroup Financial Management Inc., serves as an industry advisor to the company. “Estate planning is underserved in wealth management, and clients are most vulnerable here,” said Hyde. “Advisors who guide families — not just refer to attorneys — build trust that drives multi- generational relationships. That’s why I am working with Legacy Keeper to help shape this for our industry.”
